Before you download ASIO4ALL, you need to understand what this ASIO driver is. ASIO stands for Audio Stream Input/Output — this is the computer audio card driver Protocol responsible for the input or output of an audio stream. Invented and patented by company Steinberg. ASIO provides a small delay and high accuracy between the application program and the computer's audio card. ASIO bypasses the normal path that the digital audio signal from the user application passes through the middleware layers of the Windows operating system, so the application connects directly to the audio card. Each layer bypassed by ASIO driver means a decrease in delay or latency (delay between the application sending audio information that is processed by the sound card or, conversely, signals passing through the audio card into the application.).
ASIO4ALL is an audio driver that picks up the audio stream from the program and directs it directly to the sound card, bypassing the system, allowing you to set a minimum delay. It is also a plus in the fact that in the presence of several audio devices (sound cards, USB microphone), you can select the input of one and the output of the other. For example, you need the sound from the USB microphone to go on record and play back through the internal sound card. Or you have two sound cards and you want to record both at the same time.
