FreeCAD is a free multi-platform CAD software for creating 3D models. FreeCAD can be used in technical design, product design, as well as in other areas related to the implementation of engineering works. In addition to its own FreeCAD formats the program is compatible with the following formats: DXF, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics), STEP, IGES, STL (STereoLithography),. OBJ (Wavefront), DAE (Collada), SCAD (OpenSCAD), IV (Inventor) and the IFC.

The basic concept of the FreeCAD interface is to divide It into workbenches. Workbenches are a set of tools that are tailored to a specific task, such as working with networks, or drawing 2D objects, or sketching with guides. You can switch the current workbench using the selector. You can customize the tools in each workbench, add them from another workbench, or even create them yourself, which we call macros. There is also a versatile workbench that offers the most commonly used tools from the rest of the desktops, which is called a complete workbench.
